Xavier Capdet

He began his first theatre studies at the Orfeó de Sants School in Barcelona in 1974. In 1976, he continued his training with John Strasberg, Carlo Bozzo, Albert Vidal, and Pier Bylan. In 1985, he was awarded a scholarship to study at École Philippe Gaulier et Monica Pagneux in Paris, completing a full year as a student and six additional months as a teaching assistant.
After finishing his studies in Paris, he continued his acting training with teachers such as Gennedi Korotkov, Ferruccio Soleri, Carol Rosenferd, and Jaume Melendres.
His first professional role was at the 1976 Grec Festival in Barcelona. Since then, he has combined theatre, cinema, and television throughout his career.
He has worked under the direction of Mario Gas, Joan Castells, Joan Oller, Matias Langhoff, Carles Alfaro, Albert Dueso, and others. In cinema, he has been directed by Guillem Morales, Antonio Chavarrías, Toni Verdaguer, Ignasi Farrer, Karra Elejalde, among others. On television, he appeared in the TV3 soap opera El Cor de la Ciutat and in various series such as Estació d’enllaç, L’un per l’altre, Psico-exprés, Tatort (Germany), Quico el progre, La Lloll, and Hospital Central.
He has also appeared in telemovies such as Dues dones, Andorra, Mua i elle (for French television), El concursazo, Príncep de Viana, and others.
In 1996, he won Best Actor at the “First Short Theatre Festival of Barcelona” for F. Kafka’s monologue A Report to an Academy, and in 2000 he was nominated for the Max Awards for Best Supporting Actor in The Weir by Conor McPherson.
